Denim in Summer?

Are you low on ideas of how to incorporate denim into your wardrobe during summer?

Let the RETOLD Team help you discover some new looks and alternatives for the classic denim outfits.

When its that time of the year again, where the temperature soar over 42 degrees and if you are staying in Dubai for the summer the last place you would want to be is outside. Especially because its almost impossible to not sweat in your staple skinny jeans or denim jacket; this usually leaves you with sun dresses and strappy tops. In all fairness, dresses, tank tops and shorts are amazing summer essentials, but we like to use our wardrobe pieces all year round and if you are travelling, it’s likely you are heading to climates warm enough to still enjoy these styles we’ve selected on your garden pub lunches or out door music festivals.

Let’s run through the basics of denim, it no longer refers to just jeans and jackets, these days denim is used for skirts, overalls, dungarees, jumpsuits, high waisted shorts, capri pants, sleeveless jackets, waistcoats and of course dresses. A few of our favourite versatile pieces are denim shorts and skirts.

At RETOLD we love denim shorts and skirts because they can easily be interchanged and a whole new outfit is created. The shorter length helps with keeping you cool and fashionable throughout summer. A skirt can be paired with a simple Graphic T-Shirt and comfy sneakers for an everyday casual look or it can be paired with a white V-Neck, long sleeveless jacket and chunky heels for a night around the town.

Denim can be incorporated easily as a layering fashion accessory rather than a base item. A cropped denim vest can make any outfit stand out, it can be worn with suede shorts, a white crew neck and boots for a more "Rock Chic" look or over a jumpsuit as in the picture for an "Afternoon Stroll Look".

To keep it extra breezy, having a half denim, half sundress outfit can easily upgrade a simple sundress; add in a belt and your outfit is statement ready. It's a better alternative than a simple denim dress and a pop of colour never really hurts.
