Well, it's offical, following the updated Covid-19 restrictions...
Brunch is Back!
A few weeks ago we received some amazing news regarding restrictions put in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Hotels are allowed to operate at max capacity, restaurants can seat up to 10 people per table, and probably the one we’re most excited about, Brunch is back on!
After months of suspension, the Dubai brunch scene is getting back on its feet. This news not only means that we can once again enjoy delectable meals with friends and family, but also that the threat of Covid-19 has lessened enough for this to be possible. With the vigorous amount of testing and swift vaccination program the DHA has enacted, we are able to start returning back to a new sense of ‘normal’. So to celebrate this, the RETOLD team has put together outfits inspired by our customer’s favourite brunch spots around Dubai!
The MAINE, Oh my Grill! Brunch
The MAINE Oyster Bar and Grill located in JBR is a Seaside Brasserie that aims to bring you an honest and enjoyable dining experience, without an unnecessary façade or pretentiousness. The vibe of the restaurant is comfortable, based on a post-industrial aesthetic that gives off a retro-vintage feel, with just a touch of paired-back extravagance. Here you can enjoy company while grazing on a delectable selection of everything from seafood to steak while washing everything down with sturdy cocktails or a good bottle of wine. It’s a fan favourite when you’re looking for somewhere to go on a whimsy weekend.
For this brunch, we chose a dark blue mini dress with beaded heels and a chunky snakeskin purse. The details add an interesting flair to the otherwise simple ensemble.
BOUNTY BEETS, Breakfast at Bounty
This iconic brunch spot is trendy, vegan and gluten free with a fun touch of main stream boho charm. Positive energy is cultivated in the friendly and laid-back atmosphere, as well as it’s tantalizing (yet exceedingly healthy) menu that is guaranteed to make you feel like good-eats goddess. The playful puns used for almost all of the dishes just adds to its character, boasting great names such as “You’re all I’ve Avo Wanted” and an entire breakfast section titled “First Breakfast, then I’ll Change the World”. It’s hard not to love this place, with its colourful array of delicious food and evident feel-good factor, you know you’re onto a winner.
To match the fun vibe of the restaurant, we chose this cute powder pink outfit with strappy gold heels and a pink shoulder bag with a tassel accent to top it off with some boho flair.
The Scene, Beano’s Family Brunch
The Scene is an incredible British gastro-pub that is a top choice for hearty pub-grub as well as more experimental versions of old British classics. The restaurant is covered in interesting lightbulbs, reclaimed wood, telephone boxes and picnic tables, giving off the impression of an upscale British pub with a vintage hipster twist. It’s the perfect place to take anyone, from kids to grandparents to a night out on the town, The Scene caters to everyone willing to enjoy good hearty food in the presence of even better company. This place has always got something on, from ladies night to wine and cheese tasting evenings, so it’s no surprise that their weekend family brunch brings the entertainment to you. While the kids are entertained by princesses, clowns and other fun personalities you can sit back and relax while you tuck into a proper pub feast.
For this brunch, we chose a simple and flowy ensemble with white jeans and chunky statement heels to add a bit of spice.
Cé La Vi, Brunch on 54
This elegant restaurant has magnificent views of the Dubai skyline while providing a wonderful array of new takes on Asian cuisine. Ce La Vi is all about flair, focusing on a creative and tantalizing experience for all the senses. The menu consists of playful interpretations on flavours from a range of Asian cuisine, combining Hokkaido scallops with ceviche and crispy orange sweet breads with jalapeno, among other things. This brunch is unlike any other, it’s truly something to experience with your mouth and your mind. You can’t help but feel an air of sophistication as you sip champagne and feast on such incredible creations while overlooking the best of Dubai’s show-stopping skyline.
To keep an elegant yet exciting vibe we chose an orange runched mini dress with a colourful textured chunky necklace, blue and orange heels and a metallic yellow cross body clutch. This brunch is the best place to make a statement, so we didn't hold back!
Palazzo Versace, ‘Into the Jungle’ Brunch
Brunch at the Palazzo Versace is probably something that would come to mind when thinking of Dubai. Where else would you think to have brunch if not a designer palace? Not only can you enjoy the musical stylings of a live DJ, bongo player, violinist and singer, kiddies can also join in the fun with face painting, Magic Phil, animal impersonators and even mini chef sessions! If you have trouble deciding on a cuisine, at the Palazzo you don’t have to. You can choose from a wide array of live cooking stations that serve anything from fresh seafood to British roasts to sushi to Indian and south east Asian cuisines. Guests are encouraged to bring swimwear, as access to the Central and West pool is available before and after the brunch, and kids can enjoy access to the kids club.
Since it’s a palace, we chose an orange flowing maxi dress with deep green jewelry and matching green and gold heels. It’s regal and perfect for the poolside.
Mama Zonia, Secret Jungle Brunch
This jungle-themed extravaganza is definitely something to gawk at. It’s got a live DJ, dancers, men in gorilla suits and so much more to offer than just food. Although the grub is definitely not to be snubbed. This restaurant is colourful, cool and does not disappoint when it comes to fulfilling the jungle theme. You can enjoy oysters out of bamboo baskets, cocktails out of mugs shaped like monkey heads, and so much more at this incredible brunch by the bay. It’s perfect if you want to spice up your weekend without breaking your bank account, and who doesn’t love fresh food with a view AND engaging live performance.
For this jungle experience, we chose a loud and fiery red and black dress with feather detailing, as well as a statement necklace with matching deep pink heels. So fierce!
